Why Brisbane brands work with Nevear

  • Small first runs. Our minimum is typically 50 pieces per item, so you can test a summer range before committing to volume. Read what MOQ means.
  • Duty-free options. Clothing from our UK, US and China partner factories can enter Australia duty-free when it meets the trade agreement's rules of origin.
  • Room to grow. Repeat orders can reach around 50,000 pieces in a single shipment, from the same approved sample.
  • A predictable timeline. Samples take 2–3 weeks, and bulk orders usually arrive 3–4 weeks from the order date, shipping included.

We make swimwear, t-shirts, shorts, hats, sportswear and leggings for Brisbane labels.

Sun-protective clothing: test before you claim a UPF

In Australia, sun-protective clothing is tested and classified under the Australian Standard AS 4399. A UPF of 15 counts as minimum protection, 30 as good, and 50 or 50+ as excellent.

ARPANSA, the federal radiation protection agency, runs a NATA-accredited testing service that returns results in about 10 business days; at the time of writing a fabric or single-colour garment costs A$180 per sample for Australian companies. Results can vary from batch to batch, so test the fabric you will actually produce in.

Brisbane 2032: Olympic words are protected

Brisbane hosts the Olympic Games from 23 July to 8 August 2032, and the Paralympic Games from 24 August to 5 September 2032.

Under the Olympic Insignia Protection Act 1987, nobody other than the Australian Olympic Committee may use "Olympic", "Olympics", "Olympic Games", "Olympiad" or "Olympiads" for commercial purposes without a licence from the AOC, and expressions close enough to be mistaken for them are covered too. Keep fan and event merch to your own designs and wording.

Duty and GST on clothing into Brisbane

Duty on clothing such as T-shirts, sweatshirts, swimwear and jeans, from the Australian Border Force tariff (October 2026). Free rates apply only when the goods meet the agreement's rules of origin.
