Leggings and Yoga Wear Manufacturer

Nevear makes custom leggings and yoga wear for activewear brands, studios and gyms, from a first run of 50 pieces per style to bulk orders of around 50,000 pieces in a single shipment.

Leggings are judged on fabric, fit and opacity. Here is what to specify, and how to test a sample before you order in bulk.

Fabrics for leggings

Common legging fabrics. Compositions and weights vary; the exact fabric is confirmed at sampling.
FabricFeelBest for
Brushed nylon with elastaneVery soft, matte and lightYoga, studio and lounge wear
Compressive nylon with elastane (often 20% to 25% elastane)Firm, smooth and sculptingTraining, running and high-intensity workouts
Polyester with elastaneWicks sweat and dries fast; takes sublimation printsPrinted leggings and gym wear
Cotton with elastaneSoft and breathable, less compressiveCasual and lounge leggings
Recycled nylon or polyesterThe same performance from recycled yarn; ask for certified fabric to make the claimAny of the above

Weight matters as much as fibre. Very light fabrics feel barely there but can turn see-through when stretched; denser fabrics, often from about 220 GSM up, give more coverage and hold. Stretch a swatch over your hand before you choose.

Fit and construction

  • Waistband: high-rise, double-layer, or with a hidden key pocket at the back; a wider waistband is less likely to roll down.
  • Gusset: a diamond or triangle gusset at the crotch for movement and comfort.
  • Seams: flatlock seams lie flat against the skin; fewer seams, or a seam-free front, look cleaner.
  • Pockets: side pockets for a phone, set into the leg seam.
  • Length: full length, 7/8 or capri, with the inseam set out in your size chart.
  • Hem: coverstitched, raw cut or bonded.

Men's training tights use the same stretch fabrics and seams as leggings.

Test the sample: squat, stretch and wash

  1. Squat test in daylight, in both a light and a dark colour if you offer both, to check that the fabric stays opaque.
  2. Wear test through a full class or workout to check for rubbing, rolling and slipping.
  3. Wash test several times to check shrinkage, pilling and colour.
  4. Check recovery: the knees and seat should spring back after wear, not bag.

If a sample fails the squat test, the usual fix is a denser fabric, not a lining. Test again before you approve bulk production.

Branding on leggings and yoga wear

  • Heat-transfer and silicone logos on the waistband or hip, which stretch with the fabric.
  • Embroidery on a stable area such as the waistband; it can pucker very stretchy fabric.
  • Printed or jacquard waistband elastic with your name.
  • Sublimated all-over prints on polyester blends.
  • Printed care labels in place of scratchy waist tags.

Matching sets, such as a crop top with leggings, are cut from the same fabric and dye lot so the colours match.

Minimums, samples and pricing

Our minimum is typically 50 pieces per style. The exact minimum depends on the fabric and process and is confirmed in your quote; custom-dyed or custom-printed fabric can carry its own mill minimum.

The price per piece depends mainly on the fabric, the construction, the branding and the quantity. Read what MOQ means, or see how our pricing works.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum order for custom leggings?

Typically 50 pieces per style. The exact minimum depends on the fabric and production process, and is confirmed in your quote.

Which fabric is best for yoga leggings?

A brushed nylon and elastane blend feels soft and moves easily for yoga. For training, a firmer compressive nylon or polyester blend holds better. Either way, it should be dense enough to stay opaque when stretched.

Can you make squat-proof leggings?

Opacity depends on the fabric's weight and knit. We recommend a squat test on the sample in daylight before bulk production, and a denser fabric if it fails.

Can I order matching sports bras and bike shorts?

Yes. Sports bras, crop tops and bike shorts can be made in the same fabric and colour as your leggings, so the set matches.

How long does a sample take?

Samples typically take 2–3 weeks, and the sample cost is stated in your quote. Once you approve the sample, bulk orders are usually delivered 3–4 weeks from the order date, including shipping.
