Custom Jeans and Denim Manufacturer
Nevear makes custom jeans and denim for clothing brands, from a first run of 50 pieces per style to bulk orders of around 50,000 pieces in a single shipment, including denim jackets, shorts and skirts.
Jeans are the product where fabric, wash and fit interact most. Here is what to specify, from denim weight to back-pocket stitching.

- Minimum order
- Typically 50 pieces per style
- Denim
- Light to heavyweight, rigid or stretch
- Finishes
- Rinse, stone and enzyme washes, distressing
- Lead time
- Samples 2–3 weeks; bulk 3–4 weeks from order
Fits and denim products
- Fits: straight, slim, tapered, relaxed, baggy and wide-leg, bootcut and flare.
- Rises: low, mid and high.
- Denim jackets and overshirts.
- Denim shorts and skirts.
Denim weight and fabric
| Weight | Feel | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Lightweight, under 12 oz | Soft and drapey | Summer jeans, shirts, skirts |
| Midweight, 12–14 oz | The everyday balance of structure and comfort | Most jeans |
| Heavyweight, 14 oz and up | Stiff at first, breaks in over time | Rugged and raw denim jeans, jackets |
- Rigid or stretch. Rigid denim is 100% cotton; stretch denim usually adds 1 to 2% elastane for comfort.
- Selvedge. Woven on narrow shuttle looms, with a finished edge that shows when the cuff is turned up.
- Raw or washed. Raw denim is left unwashed and fades with wear; washed denim is pre-shrunk and softened.
- Color. Indigo in different depths, black, grey or ecru.
Washes and finishes
- Rinse wash: a light wash that keeps the denim dark.
- Stone wash and enzyme wash: softer hand and a worn-in fade.
- Acid or snow wash: a high-contrast, mottled look.
- Bleaching and tinting: lighter shades or a vintage cast.
- Distressing: rips, whiskers at the hips and honeycombs behind the knees, by hand or laser.
Washing shrinks denim, so the pattern is made with the wash in mind and a washed sample is checked for fit before bulk production.

Hardware, stitching and labels
- Shank buttons and rivets, in the metal finish you choose.
- Zip or button fly.
- Back-pocket stitching: your own signature design.
- Thread color and weight, such as classic gold or tonal.
- Waist patch: leather, jacron or printed.
- Pocket bags, labels and hangtags.

Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum order for custom jeans?
Typically 50 pieces per style. Custom washes and hardware add setup, so the exact minimum is confirmed in your quote.
What denim weight should I choose?
12 to 14 oz suits most jeans. Go lighter for summer styles and skirts, and heavier, from 14 oz, for rugged and raw denim.
Can you do a custom wash?
Yes: rinse, stone, enzyme and acid washes, bleaching, tinting and distressing. A reference garment or photo helps us match the look.
Stretch or rigid denim?
Rigid 100% cotton gives a classic look and fades well; stretch denim with 1 to 2% elastane is more comfortable in slim fits.
How long does a sample take?
Samples typically take 2–3 weeks, and the sample cost is stated in your quote. Once you approve the sample, bulk orders are usually delivered 3–4 weeks from the order date, including shipping.
