Paraiso Miami Swim Week takes place in Miami Beach each year in late May or early June. The 2026 edition, its 22nd, ran from 28 to 31 May. If you are showing a collection, or launching swimwear for the summer, work back from that date.

Swimwear needs a fit sample in the real stretch fabric, and a new style often needs a second round, so allow at least two sample rounds plus the bulk order: send your tech pack by early March for a late-May launch.

Florida charges a 6% state sales tax on clothing, and counties, Miami-Dade included, add a discretionary sales surtax at the rate of the county where the goods are delivered. Florida also holds a back-to-school sales tax holiday each summer, when clothing priced at $100 or less per item is exempt; a $120 item is taxed on the full price.

Registered dealers receive a Florida Annual Resale Certificate, which lets you buy stock for resale without paying sales tax. It expires on 31 December each year, and it does not cover anything you buy to use in the business.
